“Seirensho” is a message to Japan. Composed of six artworks integrated with architectural functions, it was made by collaging parts of an abandoned house, which represents postwar Japanese culture, on the ruins left by Japanese modernization. |
Inujima Art Project started in 1995, with the concept by Yukinori Yanagi,in which the artist proposed to transform the industrial ruins (disused copper refinery built in 1909) into artwork.More than a decade later, in 2008 the ruins reopened as a contemporary art museum, still retaining its unique scenery. |
